On the Maizebreeding Station Schönering the breeding and screening of maize:

• Grain maize: FAO 200 - 350 and
• Silage maize: FAO 200 - 350

is realised.

The farm area of the Kammerergut is about 60 ha.
The soils ale mainly middle heavy and consist of profound brown earth.

Rotation within a 3-plot succession of crops:
Oil and protein crops (soybean, linseed, field pea), winter wheat, maize.

Sea level: 270 m
Average precipitation/year:820 mm
Average temperature/year: 8.8 °C

On the Maizebreeding Station Schönering there are 3 full-time and 2 part-time employees. In the peak season also casual workers are employed.
