The farm area of the trial station in Weikendorf consists of 151 ha arable land. The soils are chernozem and profound with a depth of topsoil of 30 - 100 cm. The Phosphor and Potash supply is good. The water table is 7 m and 124 ha can be irrigated.

Rotation within a 4-plot succession of crops:
Winter cereals - oil and protein crops - spring cereals - oil and protein crops

Average temperature/year: 9,4 °C
Average precipitation/year: 510 mm

Testing of winter wheat, winter barley, rye, triticale, spring barley, durum wheat, rape, pea and soybean as well as special crops is realized on approximately 9.500 testing plots. Multiplication of seeds of 18 crops takes up an acreage of about 100 ha.

The farm area of the Lamplmaiergut is 30 ha, 26 ha of this acreage are arable land. The soils consist of basement soils with a depth of topsoil of 10 - 15 cm.

Rotation within a 3-plot succession of crops:
Cereals, potatoes, oil and protein crops

Sea level: 580 m
Average temperature/year: 6,9 °C
Average precipitation/year: 733 mm

The share of trial fields is 1,5 - 1,8 ha (oat, spring barley, special crops).

The production of seed potatoes is realized on 5 ha.
